Let's try getting back into the groove of things....

I am finally back from vacation and I had a blast! Highlights include: Warped Tour for the second time this summer, NYC, relaxing on the beach, and all the shopping I did. I went with my boyfriend and his parents- they are the greatest. His mom also likes to spoil me so she bought me tons of clothes!  If I was smart, I would've photographed the clothes before I put them all up but I didn't and my closet is jammed packed right now so yeah... I'm not taking them out. I may just photograph every new outfit I wear and post them on here.

I will resume regular blog posting next week because I am completely beat.

See you guys then :)

Favorite Friday (Week of 7/9/12)

Let's get this going!

1) Tonight Alive - What Are You So Scared Of? (Acoustic)

You can pick this up exclusively on Warped Tour throughout this summer. A must for any                                          Tonight Alive fan!

2) Charmed Limited Deluxe Edition

I love this bad boy. I was able to hold mine for an hour before having to ship it back because it was all scratched up. As soon as I get my money refunded, I am going to reorder this and this time I am going to spend the extra thirty bucks for a brand new copy. It is a replica of the Book of Shadows and it is just so pretty.

 3) Chevron

I just really love this pattern.

4) Greek Fire

These guys are making the best music right now and EVERYONE needs to check them out. You will find me promoting them all the time because I am part of the FYGF team and my design is actually being sold to raise some funds for their drummer, Johnny Venus. He was diagnosed with Leukemia earlier this year and we have been fundraising non-stop. Check out If This Is The End, a song that the band wrote for him and all the sales actually go to the Johnny Venus Leukemia Fund. Good stuff.

5) Wal-Mart

This is a pretty weird one. It's just that I ordered 200 prints of pictures from when I graduated (About two years ago) and I got them in today! It was super fast shipping on only 20 bucks. Not bad, Wal-Mart.

Shipping Woes

Remember how I said that I would occasionally have a personal post on here? Well, this is one of them.

Lately, I have had the worst luck with shopping online. This is a terrible problem because where I live, there are no great movie or music shops so I am CONSTANTLY ordering online.

Lets start from the beginning:

  1. Back in May, I ordered Bleed American on vinyl. LIMITED EDITION REPRESSING. The post office lost package for a day. They got it to me a day late after making me stress out about it
  2. Exactly a month ago I ordered two packages from Madina Lake that included autographed CDs made out to me and a limited deluxe vinyl signed that is no longer available. I haven't received any of those orders and we keep playing email tag with each other trying to figure out what is going on.
  3. Lastly, I ordered a very expensive set- Charmed Complete Series Limited Deluxe Edition. I bought this shit off amazon and it said the condition was LIKE NEW. I actually got this package very fast but half the discs are scratched so deeply that they won't play. Yesterday, I had to ship the other back and now I must wait for a refund
UGH. I hate complaining like this online but I am just so frustrated and stressed out right now :/

Has anyone every had problems like these when ordering online?

Throwback Wednesday: Andy Warhol

As a graphic design major, I love modern art. One of my favorite artist is Andy Warhol. He really did have a impact on art and how it is today. Today for throwback Wednesday, enjoy part of one of my favorite pieces of Warhol...

Music Monday: Harris Grade

Let me introduce you to one of my favorite bands: Harris Grade.

Hailing from southern California, Harris Grade is a five piece rock band that brings the energy live (although I do not know by first hand experience... :(). They are currently unsigned but hopefully that changes soon. Influenced by bands like Anberlin, Thrice, and the Foo Fighters, Harris Grade offers a raw sound that is sure to capture fans of alternative music. Check out my personal favorite song of their's down below. If you like what you hear, go like them at the Harris Grade Facebook and download their FREE EP Sea In You.

deadmau5 ft. Gerard Way - Professional Griefers FULL SONG

Professional Griefers has been a massively anticipated track amongst My Chemical Romance fans. I can't really comment on deadmau5 fans because I am not a fan of his music at all but I am really loving this track. Now, I may have a biased opinion due to my overwhelming love for MCR but either way, this track is golden.

Normally, I would not listen to this kind of music just because I love to sing along to songs. I need lyrics and this song delivers a nice variation of 'dubstep'.

There is an 'official' release date for either the song or the video for September 2. I know that once this available on iTunes, it is going in my phone and will be on repeat.

My Chemical Romance - Heaven Help Us

Let's start this blog off with a bang!

This song right here happens to be my favorite of all time (I think). It is very hard to pick one song that just made a connection with you and that connection has not been broken. When I listen to this song, I think of this one night back in in 2006. Basically, my grandma told me she didn't want anything to do with me and I came home, layed down, and blasted this song on repeat for hours. I have been able to hear this song live- TWICE!

"You don't know a thing about my sins- how the misery begins..."

If you dig this song- check out these other b-sides from the Black Parade era:
My Chemical Romance - Kill All Your Friends
My Chemical Romance - My Way Home Is Through You

Complete blog makeover!

I redid this whole blog and I am going to start posting regularly! I plan on posting at least three times a week, and there will be an outline of that later in the post...

First things first- the name is stxrlesseyes (pronounced as starlesseyes). I got the title from a My Chemical Romance song (which you will soon learn is my absolute favorite band) and it is basically what I go by on the internet. This sudden inspiration came from Lauren! (her tumblr). This blog is going to be filled with the three things I adore. Music, Life, and Art.

Here is the break down of the week:

Monday: Music Monday
  • I will post either a music video, album, or band that I am really digging right now. Promoting bands and giving people new music is something I love and will not be a weekly thing. This will also help me branch out and get some new music consistently rather than listen to the same music over and over.
  • After the music, I will post a quick breakdown of music coming out that week.
Wednesday: Throwback Wednesday
  • This day will just consist of SOMETHING music related that is older. More than likely from the 80s, 90s, and early 00s.
Friday: Favorite Friday
  • Fridays will always include between 5-10 of my favorite things from the week.

Now, you may be wondering, "Your title says music-art-life and all these days only consist of music related items." You are right! The other days of the week that aren't dedicated to music, I will be coming on here and maybe updating you on my life, or posting a new design of mine, maybe even share some of my photography or favorite art pieces, and stuff like that.

Until next time...

Home Sweet Home (For 6 Days)

Well, I just got back home yesterday after spending about a week in Dallas for a little family vacation and Warped Tour. I am so glad that I get to experience Warped Tour twice this year!

Here's a couple new additions to my room:

Signed Taking Back Sunday poster:

Signed Tonight Alive poster. Jenna signed it to me and said thanks for making the drive to see them!

Unfortunately, I had to stand throughout such an awful band to get dead center on the barricade for Tonight Alive. If you ever get a chance to listen to Skip The Foreplay, don't do it. They are the worst. Tonight Alive was the best though! There set was Eject Eject Eject, Breaking and Entering, Starlight, Wasting Away, Revenge and It's Thrills, Little Lion Man, Listening.

I leave on the 13th to go to Maryland and Michigan with Brian and his family. My next Warped date is on the 20th in Camden, NJ. Kinda nervous because.... it's Jersey.

On the other side of things, I really need a job since I quit mine. Meh...
